Grammy-winning country music star Emmylou Harris 'charged with hit-and-run after freeway fender bender'

Country music singer Emmylou Harris has been charged with hit-and-run.
The charge comes after the 65-year-old allegedly hit another vehicle whilst driving a rental car on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles back in October 2012.
The star was slapped with the misdemenour charge by the L.A. County District Attorney on Wednesday, according to TMZ.

If she is convicted, she may face up to six months in jail.
According to the other driver, who filed a report at the time of the incident, Harris drove off after hitting their car on October 1st at approximately 10pm.
But Harris's representatives have said that the Grammy-award winning star didn't realise that she actually made contact with the car.
'(It's a )garden-variety accident that happens every day on the 405,' her rep told TMZ.
According to the website, Harris's lawyer entered a 'not guilty' plea on the singer's behalf on Wednesday.
Harris, from Birmingham Alabama, has released several chart-topping albums and singles over the course of her career.

She was won a whopping 12 Grammys, as well as other numerous other awards.
In addition to being a successful solo artist, she is also a sought after backing vocalist.
Harris has duetted with several huge names in the music industry, including John Denver, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Roy Orbison, Mark Knopfler, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
