I'm going to be a big half sister': Ireland Baldwin opens up her excitement as father Alec and wife announce their baby joy

Last week Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Thomas revealed that they are expecting their first child together following their wedding last June.
And up until Baldwin's announcement, Ireland was an only child but the 17-year-old hasn't held back how excited she is about becoming a big sister.
Touching down in Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans on Tuesday, Ireland told of how much she was looking forward to welcoming a new edition to her family.

As Ireland made her way through the airport she was asked by photographers if she was happy about her father baby joy, to which she replied: 'I am.'
In the terminal, the blonde haired teenager was seen scrolling through her phone as he patiently waited for the arrival of her luggage.
En route to spend some time with her mother Kim Basinger, Baldwin wore a khaki jacket over a white T-shirt with a pair of black jeans, and biker boots.
Ireland accessorised with a patterned scarf, leather hand bag and sunglasses.

Last Tuesday following Alec's announcement, his only daughter took to her Twitter account to share the good news.
In a string of posts she gushed: 'I'm going to be a big half sister. Woah.' She then tweeted: 'My dad is pregnant guys'
And in another message directed at Alec, she wrote:'@ABFalecbaldwin heard you are pregnant!'

Off to see her mother: The 17-year-old is the only child that actors Alec and Kim Basinger had during their nine year marriage

Alec and his yoga instructor wife of eight months said her pregnancy came as 'a wonderful surprise' and they feel very 'lucky'.
Hilaria, 28, confirmed the news on Tuesday on Extra, for which she acts as a part-time correspondent, saying: 'We've having a baby. (It) was a surprise, a wonderful surprise.'
The 30 Rock star revealed he was unaware that his wife was even taking a pregnancy test at their home and was amazed to discover the news when he heard her screaming in the bathroom.
He said: 'There's a scream I heard, which is a scream normally reserved [for] if there's a spider in the house. It really is the most amazing thing. I'm lucky.'
